Hi Amy Lynn,
I’m Sarah, the organiser of the Old Towne Orange Book Club Meetup, a reading community built around thoughtful conversations, honest reactions, and the kind of discussions that stay with readers long after the final page.
I recently came across 50/50, and what stayed with me was the deeply personal story at its heart. The way a single unexpected moment can alter perspectives, challenge assumptions, and bring difficult emotions to the surface feels both relatable and profoundly human.
There’s something powerful about a book that emerges from lived experience and invites readers to reflect on the complexities of guilt, responsibility, resilience, and healing. What began as a frightening accident appears to have evolved into a meaningful exploration of how people process adversity and find their way forward. Those are themes that resonate well beyond the specific circumstances of the story itself.
Rather than simply reading and moving on, we like to sit with books, unpack them, question them, and let them spark genuine conversation. Your book feels like a wonderful opportunity to discuss how people respond to unexpected challenges, how families navigate difficult experiences together, and how moments of crisis can reshape our understanding of ourselves and those closest to us.
I’d love for us to feature your book as an Author Spotlight in one of our upcoming sessions. Our members are passionate readers who enjoy engaging deeply with books and the ideas behind them, and discussions often continue well beyond our meetings.
Participation is completely flexible and shaped around your comfort. It could be a simple spotlight feature, a short virtual visit, a written note to members, or an informal question and answer session, whatever feels right for you.
Would you be open to having 50/50 featured with our community?
Warm regards,
Sarah
